Probably the most spectacular white rhino bull I've ever seen. I was assiting wildlife vet Dr William Fowlds on a procedure to help a sick rhino cow. After the cow was darted, the other rhino in the areas gathered to watch the commotion. They were initially distressed watching their crash mate collapse to the ground and being surrounded by people. After a few minutes the rhino's concern began to turn into curiosity, the heat increased and the animals began return to the shade. This domininant male had other ideas, deciding to lay down and wait it out in the sun to observe what was happening to one of his females. I took this shot after two pied starlings landed on the relaxed bull's back.
